project updates

The design team is currently taking inventory of existing assets and layouts of the 4 identified parcels.  Maps of our site analysis for each parcel can be seen below.  We would appreciate any insight you might have on these parcels and what we can do to improve these spaces.  There is an opportunity to leave comments at the bottom of the page.

1. dedicated parcel

The dedicated parcel lies on the Northern part of town off of N. Market St.  The site is currently empty, but features beautiful mountain views and the Gurley Ditch is nearby.  Possible uses for this space include a dog park, kid's bike track or a night sky observatory.

2. community garden

The community garden is a growing area of town enjoyed by gardeners and other community members wanting to enjoy the outdoors and the Gurley Ditch.  Ideas to improve this space include adding amenities such as picnic tables and benches, planting an orchard and creating a pollinator garden.

3. pocket park

The pocket park located in the parking lot on the corner of Grand Ave. and Lucerne St. has become increasingly more popular and is a hub for town events including the farmer's market and is the MC area for town parades.  Ideas for this space include reconfiguration of the parking lot to allow for expansion of the pocket park and add amenities that support this space as a town hub.  This could include a small stage area, more tables, shade structures/trees, fire pits and/or outdoor heaters.

4. town park

Town Park is located near the center of town kitty-corner to the Lone Cone Library.  Opportunities to improve connectivity between the park and the library will be considered as well as upgrades to existing amenities.  Ideas for this site include a walking trail around the circumference of the park, trails that lead to courts, playground and splash pad, volleyball courts, and adding shade structures and places for families and groups to gather.

we want to hear from you

Is there any information missing from these maps that the design team should know?

Do you regularly visit any of the 5 places above?  What do you think could be done to improve the space?

The Dedicated Parcel (map #1) is currently an empty lot.  Do you have any ideas for what this space could be used for?

Thank you for your valuable feedback!
